Welcome to What Sharon Eats!
Sit back, grab a cup of tea or coffee if that’s your preference, some cookies, and let’s dig into what this blog is all about.
First off, let me tell you a bit about myself. My name is Sharon, and I’m a blogger, graphic designer and photographer. I live in the DC metropolitan area with my husband.

I am self-taught and have too many favorite desserts to pick one.
My culinary experience begins with my grandfather, who lived next door to me while I was growing up. Being a chef, he exposed me to a myriad of different flavors from Chinese meatloaf to his special fried scallion pancakes (yes, call me spoiled). After I got married and left home, I began to crave and remake some of my family’s home-cooked meals, which started me down the path of exploring and developing my own recipes. This blog really sprang out of a desire to keep all my recipes in order and to be able to share my grandparents’ recipes with close family and friends.
As a result, you’ll find primarily easy recipes that you can make right at home with simple, easy-to-get ingredients. Few of us have time to spend hours in the kitchen anymore and even less time to prep. Therefore, I’ve tried to keep my focus here on recipes that require minimum effort but still satisfy the taste buds. With that said though, there are some recipes that take a little bit longer but hopefully you’ll find them tasty enough to be worth the extra time. You’ll also find some Asian-inspired comfort foods that have been passed along in my family for generations.
Thank you for joining me on this cooking adventure!
